Wapakoneta Crushes Bath: 77-0 Shutout in Season Opener

Wapakoneta opened the season with a dominant 77-0 win over Lima Bath, scoring multiple tech falls and pins across the lineup. The Redskins controlled the mat from start to finish in the WBL duel.
Standout performances included strong wins from Zane Russell, Urijah Cordray, Gavin Ridenour, Keyno Mendez and freshman Channing Miller. Bath’s young roster gained valuable experience despite the tough night, and both programs look to build through the season.

He’s gearing up for prestigious national tournaments, representing Team Ohio in Fargo and participating in Super 32. Zane’s dedication and hard work serve as an inspiring example of how putting in the effort can yield incredible results.
We also discuss the Wapakoneta Wrestling Scholarship, awarded this year to two exceptional graduating seniors, Caden Mellott and Dawson Ware, helping them take their next steps in academics and trades.
Our summer update reveals a robust schedule of open mats and lifting sessions, engaging 113 dedicated wrestlers who are committed to improving their skills. We’re also grateful for the clinics hosted by wrestling standouts Ian Miller and Kollin Moore, offering personalized training for our athletes.
